Crafting Engaging and Interactive Digital Lessons with SoftChalk: A Hands-On Workshop

Abstract

In this session, titled "Crafting Engaging and Interactive Digital Lessons with SoftChalk: A Hands-On Workshop," participants will be introduced to SoftChalk, a versatile tool for designing dynamic digital lessons. The workshop aims to demonstrate how educators can leverage SoftChalk's features to create interactive and engaging content that enhances student learning. Attendees will receive hands-on guidance through the process of developing a digital lesson, from initial setup to final deployment. By the end of the session, participants will have the skills and confidence to integrate SoftChalk into their own teaching practices, thus enriching the educational experience for their students.

SITE 2025: Bridging Constructivism and Connectivism: A Path to Future Learning

Abstract

This proposal explores the convergence of two influential learning theories, constructivism and connectivism, to form a hybrid approach that meets the demands of 21st-century education. Constructivism emphasizes learning as an active, constructive process where learners build knowledge through experience and reflection, while connectivism focuses on learning in a digital age, where knowledge is distributed across networks and accessed through technology.

By merging these perspectives, educators can create learning environments that not only promote deep understanding but also harness the power of networks and digital tools to facilitate continuous learning. This integrated approach fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, aligning with modern educational needs where learners must be adaptive, resourceful, and digitally fluent. We will examine case studies from both formal and informal learning environments to illustrate the practical application of this hybrid theory and explore how educators can leverage these principles to enhance learning outcomes in a rapidly evolving digital world.
